IPW 2019: Post-FAMs and Media Opportunities

In partnership with destinations around the state, we welcome you to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime trip that will leave you amazed by the abundant and diverse experiences California has to offer. Included below are highlights from the available 3- and 4-night itineraries beginning June 6, ranging from wine country retreats and desert excursions to coastal drives and rural adventures. Continue to check back for updates as IPW approaches!

SO CAL SOUL
3 nights in Temecula and San Diego County
Start your Southern California adventure by exploring Temecula Valley, Southern California’s Wine Country. Here, you’ll visit incredible wineries, meet local winemakers and discover the hidden gems of Old Town. For the second leg of the trip, you’ll head to San Diego County and enjoy visiting some of its beautiful coastal towns and iconic attractions, including Balboa Park and Coronado Island.

DESERT TRIP
3 nights in Riverside, Greater Palm Springs, Joshua Tree & Pioneertown
Take a whirlwind trip through California’s desert, beginning with a visit to Mission Inn and Mt. Rubidoux in Riverside. Next, journey to Greater Palm Springs where you’ll get to explore Palm Springs, Joshua Tree and Pioneertown. Highlights include a Jeep Tour, visiting the BMW driving center and riding the Palm Springs Aerial Tram.

LA LA LAND
3 nights in Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Pasadena & Greater Los Angeles
If you want to experience the excitement of Los Angeles firsthand, this is the trip for you! You’ll start by enjoying some of Downtown LA’s amazing museums and attractions, before continuing on to the beach cities of Santa Monica, Venice and Malibu, where highlights include Abbot Kinney Boulevard and the famous Santa Monica Pier. On the third and fourth days you’ll spend time at Universal, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Rodeo Drive and so much more!

RIVIERA RETREAT
3 nights in Ojai, Santa Barbara & the Santa Ynez Valley
This itinerary is all about slowing down and immersing yourself in nature, the arts and wellness. After a scenic hike or bike ride in Ojai, you’ll spend an afternoon enjoying spas, art galleries and wineries. Then, you’ll journey to Santa Barbara to enjoy dolphin or whale watching, botanical gardens and more. Your trip will end with more wine tasting in the Santa Ynez Valley and a trip to Solvang, California’s very own “Little Denmark.”

NORCAL WINE DOWN
3 nights in Sacramento, Napa & Sonoma
California Wine Country is world-renowned, so if you haven’t experienced it firsthand, now is the time! This trip beings with a stop in Sacramento, the state capital of California, where you’ll explore historic Old Town and the city’s many new offerings. Then, you’ll spend two days tasting your way through some of the incredible wineries in Napa Valley and Sonoma County.

BAY AREA OR BUST
3 nights in Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Oakland & Berkeley
This trip is all about experiencing the beating heart of California’s Bay Area. First stop: tech tours in Silicon Valley, a place known for innovation and “dreaming big.” Next, you’ll journey to Tri-Valley and Berkeley for some delicious culinary offerings, including an ice cream trail! Your adventure will end in Oakland and San Francisco, where street murals and the Golden Gate Bridge make the perfect backdrop for your favorite new travel photo.

CENTRAL COASTING
4 nights in Ventura, San Luis Obispo, Monterey County & Santa Cruz

MOUNTAIN HIGH
4 nights in Mammoth Lakes, Yosemite & Lake Tahoe

Take a scenic ride up a gondola in Mammoth Lakes, enjoy a thrilling zipline experience and explore the tree-lined lakes of Mono County. LOST COAST GLAMP OUT
4 nights: Mendocino & Humboldt Counties
In California’s North Coast region is the ruggedly beautiful “lost coast” - a place of hushed forests, remote beaches and majestic trees. On this itinerary you’ll explore the charming towns of Eureka and Crescent City, and hike through the famous Redwoods National Park. After a drive down the coast, you’ll find yourself in Mendocino County, known for mushroom foraging, botanical gardens and the colorful Glass Beach.

SHASTA CASCADE
4 nights in Chico, Shasta County, Lassen, Red Bluff & Trinity County
On this trip you’ll explore the historic town of Red Bluff before venturing on to Lassen Volcanic National Park, where all four types of volcanoes in the world exist. Next, you’ll explore Mt. Shasta - considered to be a sacred place by the original tribes who inhabited the area - in addition to the vast lake and Lake Shasta Caverns National Natural Landmark. You’ll end your journey in the towns of Redding and Anderson, where you’ll see the spectacular McArthur Burney Falls.

  • Press Brunch on Sunday, June 2: 9:00-11:00 a.m.
  • Brand USA Media Marketplace on Monday, June 3

 

Each of the above trips will have approximately 30 trade and/or media participants, along with local hosts. Post FAM registration will officially begin on January 15, 2019. All attendee registration will be through Visit Anaheim’s official IPW website. There will be a $150 FAM registration fee for all attendees.
