Happy Camp is situated on the banks of the Klamath River, deep in the heart of the Klamath National Forest — prime Bigfoot territory — but Sasquatch has been a no-show at the festivities thus far (not counting various human-made facsimiles).
It’s not for the lack of Happy Campers putting on a charming, family-friendly festival every Labor Day weekend, though; the Bigfoot Jamboree features Americana staples like a parade, softball tournament and a pancake breakfast, as well as a salmon barbecue, talent show, karaoke, 5-kilometre run, and music from live bands and DJs. Of course, the crowning of the festival’s Bigfoot Queen is a moment not to be missed.
