Nothing reflects that spirit more than the Festival of Arts, which runs annually from July to August and features a line-up of more than 100 juried artists, workshops and classes for both children and adults, concerts, a fashion show, live demonstrations of painting and sculpting. What really puts the Festival of Arts in a class of its own, though, is the Pageant of the Masters, the centrepiece of the festival since 1933.
It’s a truly one-of-a-kind, 90-minute show that recreates classic and contemporary paintings using an army of volunteers. It’s part performance art and part theatrical illusion, complete with original music and narration that brings the paintings to life.
